With a wild and crazy opening week put to rest (much like the Jets' Super Bowl chances), it's time to look ahead to Week 2. With another full slate of games this Sunday, we're ready to unveil our NFL DFS sleepers and value players for DraftKings' and FanDuel's main slates. The concept of this column is simple: Identify players we view as undervalued or overlooked by the majority of daily fantasy players. If we believe in the upside those players provide or have a much higher point projection than most sites and analysts we scoop them up and list them here.We scour DraftKings, FanDuel, and SuperDraft to pinpoint the best investments -- like a grandma finding the best online coupon codes and then we write about our favorite plays for each position.By capitalizing on affordable sleepers in certain DFS roster spots, we leave ourselvesthe budget to greatly improve other roster spots with weekly studs. Let's face it, in order to afford a Christian McCaffrey ($8,900), you must invest in the occasional Roschon Johnson ($4,900).We hit on our value picks week in and week out in 2022 consistently delivering 10-plus players in the 18-22 fantasy point range so of course we brought this column back for 2023. Last week wasn't exactly a ma sive succe s, but it also wasn't a failure by any means. Our 10 best value picks averaged 14.5 DraftKings points while costing just $3,690 per player. Not too shabby! Take a look at the hits:Pos.PlayerWk. 1 GameDK PricePtsQBAnthony RichardsonColts vs. Jaguars$5,60022.9QBDerek CarrSaints vs. Titans$5,30016.6RBBrian RobinsonCommanders vs. Cards$5,10013.6RBRaheem MostertDolphins @ Chargers$5,40013.2RBSamaje PerineBroncos vs. Raiders$5,10011.8WRZay FlowersRavens vs. Texans$4,00017.7WRJordan AddisonVikings vs. Buccaneers$5,10016.1WRNico CollinsTexans at Ravens$4,70014.0WRMichael ThomasSaints vs. Titans$6,00011.1TELuke MusgravePackers at Bears$2,9008.0DSTWashingtonCommanders vs. Cards$2,80011.0That's a modest start to the season, by our standards, but we still have quite a few hits there. The biggest performances, of course, came from the rookies: Richardson at QB and both Flowers and Addison at wide receiver. Our goal this week is to pair improve upon our underwhelming performances at RB and TE. It has perhaps never been harder to pinpoint value plays at those two positions, but we're up for the challenge.Win BIG with SuperDraft! For those unfamiliar,DFS scoring involves point multipliers as opposed to traditional salary-capped or tiered contests. A winning lineup will likely feature a strong mix of stud fantasy contributors with 1x-1.6x boosts, as well as matchup-based sleepers with larger multipliers. Each player is a signed a scoring multiplier based on their value as determined by SuperDraft. Users can roster any player in their lineup with no restrictions.MORE SUPERDRAFT DFS:Enough chit-chat. Let's find some sleepers and values and make some money in the DFS market in Week 2. Good luck, and enjoy the second weekend of NFL football! All player values are from DraftKings, FanDuel, and SuperDraft. All stats are from NFL.com and Pro Football Reference.Daniel Jones, Giants at Cardinals (DK: $6,000 | Germany Jersey FD: $7,500 | SD: 1.3X multiplier)Danny Dimes had a dud in Week 1 against the Cowboys, connecting on just 15-of-28 pa ses for 104 yards, no TDs, and two interceptions. He was left soaked with his head in his hands, a brutal way for him and this Brian Daboll offense to start the season. However, going from a matchup with the Cowboys to the Cardinals is like going from the to the they're just not even in the same stratosphere. Arizona allowed the second-most TD pa ses in 2022 and also ranked in the top 10 in pa sing yards and QB rushing TDs surrendered. Bag Dimes up now.Geno Smith, Seahawks at Lions (DK: $5,900 | FD: $7,000 | SD: 1.3X)I'm doubling down on Geno, one of my picks. Sure, he was abysmal against the Rams in Week 1, but let's remember that he finished as the QB5 in 2022, and now he draws a matchup with a Lions secondary that's as warm and welcoming as my Aunt Donna at summer cookouts. This Detroit squad surrendered the third-most pa sing yards and eighth-most pa sing TDs last season, and while its defense has improved a bit, we expect a shootout in what's being projected as one of the higher-scoring games of the week. Stickin' with Mr. Smith!Brock Purdy, 49ers @ Rams (DK: $5,700 | FD: $7,100 | SD: 1.35X)Let's just face it, America: Brock Purdy Tottenham Hotspur Jersey is a damn good quarterback. Every time the betting and fantasy industries try to downplay his skills, he crushes expectations. The dude went into Pittsburgh and put up 220 pa sing yards, 20 rushing yards, and two TDs, finishing in the top as the QB10 in fantasy. Now he draws a Rams secondary that PFF ranks last in the NFL. Soundsto me.Other solid Week 2 values: Baker Mayfield, Bucs vs. Bears (DK: $5,100 | FD: $6,800 | SD: 1.45X); Ryan Tannehill, Titans vs. Chargers (DK: $5,000 | FD: $6,400 | SD: 1.45X)WEEK 2 STANDARD RANKINGS: | | | | | Zack Mo s, Colts at Texans (DK: $4,700 | FD: $6,100 | SD: 1.55X)With Jonathan Taylor starting the year on the PUP list, Deon Jackson wasbrutallast week, totaling just 14 yards on 13 carries, and rookie Evan Hull (knee) got injured. If Mo s returns from his broken arm rehab for Week 2 against the Texans, he's a must-start. Houston surrendered the most rushing yards and TDs to running backs in 2022, and the Colts might be wrapping rookie QB Anthony Richardson in bubble wrap considering the tough luck they've had with injuries. If Mo s's arm is ready, be ready to fire him up. Otherwise, it might be time to Jake Funk it up (that's a real person).Kyren Williams, Rams vs. 49ers (DK: $5,000 | FD: $5,900 | SD: 1.4X)Williams came out of nowhere with 17.4 PPR points in Week 1, finding the end zone twice in the Rams' victory over the Seahawks. What many might not realize is that Williams actually garnered 15 carries for 52 yards in that game and out-snapped Cam Akers 53 to 28 (translating to snap percentages of 65 and 35). This appears to be Williams' backfield to lose, especially after Akers managed just 29 yards on 22 rushes against a questionable Seahawks front-seven. Even against a tough 49ers defense, a starting RB at home with a 65-percent snap percentage and red-zone upside seems too good to pa s up.Roschon Johnson, Bears at Bucs (DK: $4,900 | FD: $4,600 | SD: 1.5X)Johnson turned some heads in Week 1 against the Packers, rushing five times for 20 yards and a TD and catching six-of-seven targets for 35 yards. In DraftKings and other full-point PPR formats, the rookie seems like a sage investment for his sure hands and YAC ability. There will always be opportunities for Johnson to slip free with defenses worried about Justin Fields taking off. There's also the ever-present potential for garbage-time production since the Bears are once again not all that good of a team. We wouldn't want Johnson as our RB2, but if we're stuck with $5,000 and need a flex, he might be our guy.More solid Week 2 RB values: David Montgomery, Lions vs. Seahawks (DK: $5,800 | FD: $6,300 | SD: 1.3X); Kenneth Walker III, Seahawks at Lions (DK: $5,800 | FD: $6,700 | SD: 1.3X); Tyler Allgeier, Falcons vs. Packers (DK: $5,500 | FD: $7,100 | SD: 1.3X)WEEK 2 PPR RANKINGS: | | | | | Mike Williams, Chargers at Titans (DK: $5,700 | FD: $6,700 | SD: 1.25X)Williams had a rough Week 1 against the Dolphins. He got banged up and struggled to find separation against a strong Miami secondary, only coming away with four catches for 45 yards. This weekend presents a good bounce-back opportunity for the veteran deep threat, as the Titans once again have one of the worst pa sing defenses in the NFL.Nico Collins, Texans vs. Colts (DK: $4,800 | FD: $6,200 | SD: 1.35X)Collins is damn good, a fact apparently lost on DraftKings. The 24-year-old receiver enjoyed 11 targets from rookie QB C.J. Stroud in Week 1, turning that into six catches for 80 yards. The dude scored 14 PPR points without even sniffing the end zone! He's a no-brainer at this price point.Puka Nacua, Rams vs. 49ers (DK: $4,900 | FD: $5,800 | SD: 1.3X)Puka power! This dude hauled in 10-of-15 targets for 119 yards on Sunday, finishing with a gargantuan 24.9 PPR points. With Los Angeles potentially playing from behind against the high-flying 49ers, Matthew Stafford will probably keep this rookie busy once again this weekend. Look up and tell me you're not intrigued.More solid Week 2 WR values: Christian Kirk, Jaguars vs. Chiefs (DK: $5,100 | FD: $6,000 | SD: 1.3X); Jahan Dotson, Commanders at Broncos (DK: $4,900 | FD: $6,100 | SD: 1.3X); Marvin Mims Jr., Broncos vs. Commanders (DK: $3,500 | FD: $4,600 | SD: 1.65X)WEEK 2 FANTASY: | |Sam LaPorta, Lions vs. Seahawks (DK: $3,900 | FD: $5,100 | SD: 1.45X)LaPorta had a solid NFL debut last week against the Chiefs, catching all five of his targets for 39 yards. Now he draws a home matchup with the Seahawks, who have become perennially bad at defending the tight end position. No defense allowed Uruguay Jersey more fantasy points per game to TEs than Seattle last season, and only the Eagles allowed more tight end yards than the Seahawks in Week 1. We love Sam, and not just because that's my son's name (shout-out, Sammy James!).More solid Week 2 TE values: Dalton Kincaid, Bills vs. Raiders (DK: $3,300 | FD: $5,200 | SD: 1.45X); Luke Musgrave, Packers at Falcons (DK: $3,200 | FD: $5,000 | SD: 1.65X)Atlanta Falcons vs. Packers(DK: $2,900 | FD: $4,000)Look out, world the Falcons are good! The whole franchise seems energized by stud rookie back Bijan Robinson, and this ATL squad has itself once again believing it belongs. The Dirty Birds limited Carolina to 10 points and 3.9 yards per play last week, and they turned the Panthers over three times. Now they draw another home game against Jordan Love and the young, upstart Packers at home? Sign us up.Other solid Week 2 D/ST values: Ravens at Bengals (DK: $2,800 | FD: $4,600); Buccaneers vs. Bears (DK: $3,200 | FD: $4,100)
